Nathan Kok is a passionate, 8-year old golfer. He is a member at The Country Club Johannesburg. His goal is to become one of the best athletes in this sport. He practices and plays as much as he can to make his dream a reality one day. He identified the World Championships in the USA in a movie, called ‘The Short Game’ and made it his mission, at a very young age to qualify for this tournament. He has successfully played on the US Kids local tour.
Through this, he played his first international tournament in Scotland in 2019, where he placed 37th in the boys 7 category. He successfully qualified for the 2019 World Championships and placed 28th in the boys 6 category. He took a lot of experience from this tournament that has helped him in his game to date and will assist him to better his results in the 2021 World Championships.
He has made many friends on the golf course and also enjoys playing with them in the SA Kids Golf tournaments across Gauteng – where he has won several medals and trophies, that he is very proud of.

Some of his achievements so far are: 

  • 3 Hole-in-one’s
  • Qualifying and playing in the European Championships in Scotland in May 2019
  • Qualifying for World Championships in Pinehurst, North Carolina USA in August 2019 and placing 28th
  • Second place in the SA Kids Junior Africa Challenge in August 2019 in age group 6 and under
  • Personal best tournament score on 9 Holes is 34 (-2) at Dainfern and Ruimsig Country Clubs respectively
  • 2019 and 2020 US Kids Spring Tour Champion for boys 6 and under
  • Won the Most Improved Player of the year in the SA Kids Order of Merit awards in 2019
  • Qualifying for World Champs in Pinehurst USA and European Champs in Scotland in 2021 as well as for various other international tournaments
