Tell us where and when your love affair with golf started.

I have loved golf since I can remember. I started with lessons at the age of three and my first competition was when I was four years old.

Are you the sort of golfer who sets yearly goals? If so, what goals did you set for yourself to achieve?

I set goals to break certain scores and my latest goal was to become a single-figure handicap from the ladies’ tees, which I achieved. I am now a 9-handicap.

Talk to us about the strengths of your game and what are the weaknesses or aspects of the game you still need to attend to.

My weakness at the moment is my longer game which I am working on. My strength is my short game, especially chipping and putting.

Revann Botha

Do you participate in other sports at school, or is golf your primary focus?

I play rugby and cricket for my school.

Which tournaments would you most like to win and why?

I would love to qualify and win an international tournament in America. The biggest tournament for my age is the World Champs in Pinehurst.

Revann Botha

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Golf is a game of recovery. You can always recover after a bad shot or hole.
It is all about attitude, but you must also remember to have fun.

What’s your go-to club in your bag and why?

My 8-iron. It can get me out of trouble or on the green from almost anywhere.

Revann Botha

What advice would you give youngsters just starting in the game?

Golf is not easy, it is a work in progress. Just play as much as you can and remember to enjoy the game.

Do you have any superstitions before golf or on the golf course?

I always say a prayer before every game.

Which are your favourite golf courses and which golf courses would you still love to play?

Leopard Creek, Pinnacle Point and Gary Player are my favourite courses. I would still love to play the courses at Fancourt too.

Long term, what are your goals for the future and how does golf feature?

I want to concentrate on finishing school and then, I just want to start playing more Ekurhuleni golf tournaments. I am only now starting to get comfortable playing in the u/13 division. I also enjoy playing US Kids and SA Kids golf tournaments too.

<<CHIP SHOTS>> Tell us 5 things about yourself that most people don’t know. • I am scared of thunder • I really love the bushveld and to braai • I love school and all my mates • I also love afrikaans music and to dance • Playing rugby is a big favorite for me

JUST FOR FUN…

If you had to pick one animal to describe you, what would it be and why?

A leopard – they are my favourite animals. If I could have one for a pet, I would love that.

What is your favourite season and why?

Summer – I love to swim.

Is there anything you are addicted to or can’t live without?

Wine gums and jelly babies – hahaha
